If your child is unable to attend school please inform us as soon as possible. It is important for us to confirm that your child is safe at home. Your child should not be removed from school without permission. Dental appointments etc. should, if at all possible, be arranged out of school hours. If you need to collect your child from school during the day, for whatever reason, please ensure that you exit from the office area and sign him/her out.

If your child is ill please avoid sending him/her to school whenever possible as viruses can spread through a class very quickly. If a child has had sickness and/or diarrhoea please do not send them to school until they have been symptom free for at least 24 hours.

The Local Authority, the Area Health Authority and the teaching profession have agreed that children suffering from infections and taking antibiotics should, in most cases, remain at home.

For safety reasons parents must not bring cars in to the school car park. School officially opens at 8:50 a.m. Children should not arrive before that time as they will not be supervised by staff. We do offer a Breakfast and After school Club, please see the ‘wrap around care’ page from further information.

We welcome parents to join us on a Friday at 9.15am for our ‘stars assembly’.

Each teacher chooses their ‘Stars of the Week’. This is written in the ‘Stars Book’ on Thursday at the end of school and is usually a work-related award. Children receive a certificate and sticker in the assembly, their photograph is taken and is displayed for one week in the entrance area of the school. The photograph is then placed in the ‘Stars Book’, which is kept in the reception area.
